Privacy Policy
Effective date: 23 July, 2026
Sankalp is developed and published by Rabindra Mahato, an individual based in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India, operating under the name HomoLLabs. Throughout this Privacy Policy, "HomoLLabs," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Rabindra Mahato operating under this name. HomoLLabs is not, at this time, a separately incorporated legal entity.
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of Sankalp worldwide, regardless of where you are located.

1. The Short Version
Sankalp is built to hold as little information about you as possible, store what it does hold on your own device, and never sell or share it. Your Ledger, your Commitments, and your Field configurations live on your phone, not on our servers, and you can export or delete all of it at any time, for free, with no exceptions.
2. What We Collect
Stored locally, on your device only
- Field configurations (names, allowed apps, notification settings you set)
- Commitments (rules you author, and the timestamps of when you override them)
- Ledger entries (a chronological record of Field entries/exits, sessions, stated intentions, and Commitment overrides - timestamps and category only, never content)
- Notes you optionally write on the override screen
- App preferences and complexity settings you choose
None of the above is transmitted to us, stored on any server we control, or accessible to us in any form, unless you explicitly choose to export and share it yourself.
Collected only with your explicit, separate opt-in, and limited to aggregate, non-identifying data
- Whether onboarding was completed (yes/no)
- Number of Fields and Commitments created (counts only)
- App version and device manufacturer/OS version (to help us fix compatibility issues)
- Crash reports, if you opt in, with personal data stripped before submission
If you do not opt in, none of this is collected either.
Never collected, under any circumstance
- The content of your notes, messages, or anything you type or view inside other apps
- Screen content or UI content from any app other than Sankalp itself
- Keystrokes
- Browsing history
- Message body text from notifications
- Precise or approximate location
- Contacts data beyond on-device matching needed to route a stated intent (for example, "call Priya") - this matching happens entirely on your device and is never transmitted
3. Sensitive Permissions - Exact Scope
Sankalp requests two permissions that carry real weight, and we want to be precise about both rather than vague.
Accessibility Service
Used only to detect which app is in the foreground, so that Commitments you've authored can be enforced regardless of how you opened a restricted app. This service does not read screen content, does not read UI element content, and does not log keystrokes. Its manifest declaration explicitly disables window-content retrieval. If you decline this permission, Sankalp still works - app restrictions are simply limited to what's visible on your home screen, and we tell you this plainly in the app rather than pretending otherwise.
Notification Listener Service
Used only to read which app sent a notification and, where available, the sender's identity, so notifications can be sorted into the tiers you configure. It never reads the body text of any notification.
4. Where Your Data Goes
Nowhere, by default. HomoLLabs does not use advertising, does not sell data to third parties, and does not share your data with data brokers, advertisers, or any other party, for any reason, at any time.
If a limited, opt-in analytics or crash-reporting service is used, it is configured to collect only the aggregate items listed in Section 2, with no device or user identifier attached. [If a specific third-party service is used - for example, a crash reporter - name it here and link its own privacy policy.]
5. Your Rights
Regardless of whether you pay for anything, you always have the right to:
- Export all of your data, in full, in a structured format (JSON or CSV), in one action, from within the app.
- Delete any individual entry, any date range, or all of your data, immediately and permanently, from within the app.
- Decline any permission and continue using a reduced but functional version of the app.
None of these rights are gated behind a subscription tier, now or in any future version.
6. Data Retention
Data you generate stays on your device for as long as you keep the app installed, or until you delete it yourself. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data along with it. If any aggregate, opted-in analytics data has been transmitted to us, it is retained only as long as needed for the stated purpose and is not linked back to an individual device or person.
7. Children's Privacy
Sankalp's userbase substantially includes students, some of whom are minors under Indian and other applicable law. HomoLLabs' data practices are built with this in mind: data is stored locally rather than on our servers, no behavioral advertising exists, and no profile of any user - child or adult - is built or sold. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, processing a child's personal data requires verifiable parental consent for certain categories of processing. HomoLLabs has not yet implemented a formal verifiable-consent mechanism, and this is flagged here as an open compliance item requiring legal review before this policy should be relied upon as fully compliant (see closing notes). Users under the age of majority in their jurisdiction should have a parent or guardian review this policy and the accompanying Terms of Service.
8. International Users
Sankalp is distributed globally, and HomoLLabs is based in India. Because the data described in Section 2 is stored locally on your device rather than transmitted to or processed on servers we control, most of what would ordinarily be described as cross-border data transfer does not occur. Where any opt-in aggregate data is transmitted, it is not linked to your identity or device. Depending on your location, additional disclosures may still be required under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR or California's CCPA - see closing notes.
9. Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes in a way that reduces your rights or changes how your data is handled, we will state so clearly, with a visible notice in the app, before the change takes effect.
