Terms of Service

By downloading, accessing, or using Sankalp (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). The Service is developed and published by Rabindra Mahato, an individual based in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India, operating under the name HomoLLabs ("HomoLLabs," "we," "us," "our," or "the Developer"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms incorporate our Privacy Policy by reference.

1. What Sankalp Is

Sankalp is a personal productivity and attention-management application for Android. It replaces the standard app grid with intention-organized Fields, self-authored Commitments, and a local activity record (the Ledger). It is currently distributed free of charge, with no subscription tier active.

2. Eligibility

You must be able to form a legally binding agreement to use Sankalp. In India, the age of majority is 18; if you are younger than the age of majority in your own jurisdiction, you should use Sankalp only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

3. License

HomoLLabs grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Sankalp on devices you own or control, for your own personal use. You may not reverse-engineer, redistribute, or resell the application, except where specific components are released under a separate open-source license, in which case that license governs those components.

4. Current Cost

Sankalp is currently free to use, with no subscription tier active. This may change in the future. If it does, HomoLLabs will state so clearly, in advance, and any change will not retroactively convert your existing free use into a paid obligation without your consent. This statement is not a promise that Sankalp will always be free - it is an honest description of its current status, updated if and when that status changes.

5. Your Content

Notes, Commitment text, and any other content you create within Sankalp remain yours. HomoLLabs does not claim ownership over it, does not license it for any purpose beyond operating the app on your device, and does not access it unless you choose to export and share it yourself.

6. What Sankalp Does and Does Not Guarantee

Sankalp's Commitment enforcement depends on Android system permissions and can be affected by device manufacturer behavior outside HomoLLabs' control - in particular, some Android manufacturers aggressively terminate background services in ways that can silently disable enforcement. HomoLLabs makes reasonable efforts to detect this and notify you honestly when it happens, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted enforcement in all cases, on all devices, at all times. Sankalp is provided to help you hold to commitments you make to yourself; it is not a guarantee that you will do so, and its friction mechanisms can always be overridden by you, by design.

7. No Warranty

Sankalp is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose. As of this version, Sankalp is in active development and testing, and you should expect incomplete features and possible defects.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HomoLLabs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Sankalp, including but not limited to loss of data (though Sankalp's own data-export tools are provided specifically to help you avoid this), missed commitments, or any outcome related to your use of the app's focus or restriction features. Because HomoLLabs operates as an individual rather than a registered company, this clause has real practical limits - see closing notes.

9. Termination

You may stop using Sankalp at any time by uninstalling it; doing so removes all locally stored data along with the application. HomoLLabs may discontinue or modify the service at its discretion. If the service is discontinued entirely, reasonable advance notice will be given, and the data-export tools will remain functional up to that point, so you are not left without your own data.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Sankalp are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of India.

11. Changes to These Terms

Material changes to these Terms will be communicated clearly, with visible in-app notice, before they take effect.
